Well, howdy there, internet people? Let's bow again. So today we are going to talk about

Nashville and hills, climbing them and how things look a little bit different once you get to

the other side, unless you're facing the wrong direction.

To talk about this, we will talk about a woman named Olivia Hill.

Olivia Hill just was elected to the at-large seat on the Nashville Metro Council there.

Now, she says that her priority is fixing Nashville's aging infrastructure and getting that back up to speed.

But that's not what kind of made history here. Miss Hill is trans. Miss Hill is trans and she was

elected in Nashville in Tennessee. Tennessee has been ground zero for the

fight against LGBTQ-C-Q civil rights.

The Republican Party in Tennessee is doing everything it can to try to limit the civil rights of people.

Yeah, this sounds familiar, right?

And that's the thing.

We talk about how, when it comes to social movements, progressive ideas, on a long enough timeline

we win, right? As things move forward people become more socially progressive as

history moves forward it's how it normally works in most places.

Tennessee is looking at the civil rights movement for LGBT- people and they're fighting against

it but the interesting thing is that you, I mean they're still booting black people from the State House.

They're still fighting against the last major civil rights movement as well.

But they're losing. They're losing. Olivia Hill kind of proves that. It's one of those things when it comes to giving more rights, more freedom for more people. That's the trend of humanity. It doesn't matter if you

live in a red state. It is what is going to happen eventually. And you can

continue to stand on the top of that hill as progressives drag you up it and

look backwards or you can look ahead. Once you get over that hill things are a lot better.
