So today we are going to talk about Montana

and the climate,

and a case that is moving forward,

entering an incredibly important phase, a phase that most people associate with the end of things like

this, but realistically in this case it's going to go on and on for years because it is it's very unique. The

name of the case is held versus Montana. We've talked about it on the channel

before but as a refresher, it was first brought back in

20-20, I think, by 16 people who were kids.

I want to say, aged 5 to 22, something like that.

And they're suing the state because the state is supporting dirty energy to keep it

simple.

The state is engaging in activities that are bad for the environment that contribute to climate change.

They're suing the state to stop it.

Seems odd, right?

Doesn't seem like something that should happen, but Montana has something

very unique in its constitution. Ever since 1972, if you live in the state of Montana, you kind of have a right to a

kind of have a right to a clean and healthful environment.

It's in their constitution and that the state is supposed to kind of maintain that.

The plaintiffs are saying the state's not living up to end of the bargain.

It's going to be hard to argue against that.
