Well, howdy there, internet people, it's bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about millions thrown off food stamps, while Trump's war on affordability rages on.

Let's start with the key fact that's driving this. From January 2025 to January 2026, more than 4.3 million people

lost food assistance in the United States, according to preliminary government data. Snap

participation has dropped by more than 10% in some states. So right now, political parties are trying to frame this drastic decline in American food security,

and it's prompting questions about what's really happening and who is to blame.

Democrats are saying it's Trump's one big, beautiful bill.

Republicans are saying it's a combination of fraud reduction and how great the economy is doing.

I'm not joking. That's the line.

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rawlins said, quote,

As of just a couple of days ago, we now have moved 4.3 million Americans off of the

food stamp program. A lot of that is fraud. A lot of it is people taking the program that shouldn't

have been. And a lot of it is just a better economy. We've had wage growth that is outpaced inflation for the

first time since early 2021. This is a really big day, so people don't need food stamps. Yes,

I'm sure with soaring gas prices and elevated inflation, the people who qualified for SNAP

are just singing the praises of this economy and how much easier it is for them. It's important

to remember that when economic strains occur and prices go up, those people who were treading

water are now below water.

This economy absolutely did not help those on the bottom.

The people on SNAP are not benefiting from this economy,

because the people on SNAP are not billionaires.
