So today we're going to talk about McConnell, Trump,

and the state of the Republican Party today.

Senator Mitch McConnell is a man nobody can call a rhino.

McConnell has been a Republican senator since Reagan was in office.

A new book is giving a plain look at the senator and one part in particular is about

to become a topic of conversation. The book titled The Price of Power gives a clear assessment of how McConnell feels about Trump.

McConnell indicated he was counting the days until Trump left office and said that the way Trump acted after the election, quote,

only underscores the good judgment of the American people.

They've had just enough of the misrepresentations, the outright lies, almost on a daily basis, and

they fired him.

McConnell was

a concerned Trump's antics and false claims about the election

would cost Republicans the Senate

because of the runoff races.

Democrats did win those races,

but it's unknown whether it was truly Trump's fault.

During this period, McConnell reportedly said that Trump was, quote,

stupid, as well as being ill-tempered, and can't even figure out where his own best interests lie.

The book recounts how Trump invited McConnell to a joint press conference with no warning.

McConnell, talking about how the event went well, even without prep, said,

quote, it's not hard to look more knowledgeable than Donald Trump at a press conference.
