So today, we're going to talk about major Fed news and Trump's shakeup.

Since its creation more than a century ago, the Federal Reserve has been independent of partisan influence.

For 111 years, monetary policy in the U.S. was

insulated from politicians. Humpty Dumpty has been pushed. Fed independence has ended.

Monday night, Stephen Myron, who is one of President Donald Trump's top economic advisors, was confirmed by the Senate, by a vote of 48 to 47.

He is now sitting on the Federal Reserve's Board of Governors.

He will not resign his position as a White House Economic Advisor, but will reportedly be on unpaid leave.

This is the first time in history, somebody on the board of governors is also an employee of the White House. He will fill out the remainder

of former Fed Governor Adriana Coogler's term. That ends in January 26. Even though it's only a few months, this is a breach in the Wall of Independence

that separates our monetary policy from partisan politics. In a post-truth, argue with numbers

fire the calculator era. That wall was more important than ever before.

Protecting that insulation shouldn't have been a partisan issue.

But Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska was the only Republican who voted against ending the Fed's independence.

In other news, the mortgage fraud allegations against Fed Governor Lisa Cook continue to unravel.

In appeals court blocked Trump from removing her before the interest rate meeting.

That might be taking place now.

I'm not sure when this video will go out.

But beyond that, Reuters is reporting that the tax authorities in Ann Arbor, Michigan are saying she didn't break the rules. Then there's her NSP paperwork, which is a form

you fill out for national security positions, shows her identify the Georgia property as a second home. There don't appear to be

any exemptions filed there. Most importantly, documents from Georgia reportedly show that she

correctly identified the property there. A loan summary form from the bank says, quote,
