Well, howdy there internet people, let's bow again.

So today we are going to talk about Louisiana

and the Commandments, and the Tenants, and the Pillars,

and other things that are likely to occur in the future.

We covered the progress of this piece of legislation on the channel. It has now become law. In Louisiana in every

classroom there will be a copy of the Ten Commandments.

The Supreme Court of the United States in 1980 struck down an incredibly similar law in

Kentucky. incredibly similar law in Kentucky, finding that it violated the Constitution, the First Amendment.

So this was pushed probably as an election signaling thing.

There may be a hope that the new court will take a different view of it.

prepared to openly declare a theocracy

and throw away the Constitution. My guess is that one of two things is going to

occur. One is that it's going to be struck down completely or it's going to say that well you have to

provide equal access so in addition to the commandments you might have something that says one should strive to act with

compassion and empathy towards all creatures in accordance with the reason. The struggle for justice is an ongoing and

necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions. One's body is

inviolable, subject to one's own will alone.

The freedoms of others should be respected,

including the freedom to offend.

To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forego one's own.
