Well, howdy there internet people, let's bow again. So today we are going to talk

about something that Senator Lindsey Graham said. We're going to talk about what

the senator said and then we're going to talk about what he

meant because I have a feeling that this particular statement by the senator is

going to be something you're going to see in a clip or a sound bite because frankly

the way he said it is just too good to pass up.

However, the point he was trying to make is actually something that a whole

lot of people could probably benefit from hearing.

Even beyond the point he was very poorly trying to make.

Okay, so what did the eloquent senator say?

We celebrated the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

It was a failure.

And I'm certain that some of the clips are going to stop right there.

And it does sound like he is saying that D-Day was a failure.

If you add the next phrase, it doesn't actually get better. It turns into we celebrated the

80th anniversary of D-Day it was a failure it was the unnecessary war. Wow.

Okay, from here he tries to add context, but it's too late.

The way that came out was very, very bad. It didn't come out right.

He was not trying to say that D-Day was a bad thing in the sense that it shouldn't have happened or that it was unnecessary.

He's talking about something that Winston Churchill said,

which is that World War II was the unnecessary war because there were so many

chances to stop that guy with the weird mustache early on. that's the point he was trying to make.
