Well, howdy there, Internet people. It's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about Kentucky,

batteries, and money. In the deep dark hills of northern Kentucky, that's the place you find a new

battery plant. At least soon you will. A $712 million project has been announced for a battery plant that will employ more than

1500 people when the plant reaches full capacity.

The plant in Shelbyville will make industrial batteries for the grid.

They would work in conjunction with greener energies.

The batteries themselves will be about 20 feet long and

nine feet tall. The governor, Andy Bashir, said, with this investment, we're putting our stamp

on working to become just the battery capital of the United States. That's not just idle talk.

Kentucky also has other battery projects lined up.

Announced investments in battery production in the state total more than $11 billion

and will provide more than 10,000 jobs.

Most of that is for electric vehicle batteries.

The Commonwealth of Kentucky is joining other states with long histories of being economically

reliant on dirty energy that are stepping into the future and transitioning to green energy

production.

Governor Bashir also cheered on the effects of Biden's bipartisan infrastructure law.

He said, quote, projects of this magnitude simply don't happen without something like the

bipartisan infrastructure law. So, I want to thank President Biden. I want to thank Vice President

Harris. I want to thank the Biden. I want to thank Vice President Harris.

I want to thank the Secretary for delivering this historic funding we requested.
