Well, howdy there internet people, it's bow again. And today we are going to talk about the heat.

We're going to talk about the heat impacting the United States right now, give everybody a glimpse as far as the scope of the issue.

It's important to acknowledge that some of this is becoming the new norm. So you're going to have to adapt your behaviors to

to deal with some of this. Currently I think there's 160 million people under a heat advisory.

You're looking at temperatures that are 10 to 30 degrees above average for this time of the year.

This is, the situation is a little bit worse right now because it's not cooling off that night.

So far, I haven't seen any indication of when this particular heat wave is going to end.

As far as scope, Palm Springs, hit 124, recently, Phoenix 118, Vegas 120, Death Valley,

128, 5 have been lost so far that I'm aware of. I have even heard of one incident where the

temperature was outside the safe operating range of the helicopter that was going to be used.

So if you get somewhere remote and have an issue, it may be difficult to get you out.

Cooling and hydration are paramount right now.

They're incredibly important.

Watch out for pavement burns.

Keep in mind, the pavement can hit 170 degrees. There are reports of hospitals and they're basically saying that there's an influx of them coming in.

In Texas you have millions without electricity that of course is making the heat issue

more pronounced. We often talk about the cooling power of water.

After a hurricane, please remember the water that is available in the street may not necessarily be clean.

Not something you want to go swimming around in.

A lot of that flooding, it brings other stuff up from other systems. Chemical, some other stuff that you just don't want to be in.

If you are volunteering down there, hydrate, hydrate or die, quite

literally right now. If you're volunteering in a shelter, make sure that the people coming in are drinking fluids.
