Well, howdy there internet people, it's Bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about Harris, the filibuster, and protecting Americans.

Vice President Harris made an announcement that is likely to add pressure to

Trump's reluctance to commit to protecting women in the United States.

She made the announcement during an interview on Wisconsin Public Radio.

For quite some time, Harris has indicated she would support restoring the protections for women that were ripped away when Trump systematically

dismantled those protections when he orchestrated an end to row.

One of the talking points coming from the right was that it didn't matter what Harris said.

And there was no reason for Trump to talk about it because any potential legislation would

never get through the Senate.

They were apparently completely unaware that they were reminding the country that it wasn't

just Trump, but the entire Republican Party that is actively denying women their rights.

Harris ended this talking point when she said, quote, I think we should eliminate the filibuster for row and get us to the point

where 51 votes would be what we needed to actually put back in law the

protections for reproductive freedom and for the ability of every

person and every woman to make decisions about their own body and not have their government

tell them what to do.

Ending the filibuster is something that has been talked about on the fringes of political

discussion for a while.

But it's now entered the mainstream with both Harris and Democratic

Senate Majority Leader Schumer indicating they would support carving out an

exception to protect women from Republican government overreach.
