Well, howdy there internet people? It's Bell again. So today we're going to talk about

Trump and General John Kelly's statements to the press.

John Kelly is a retired Marine Corps 4-star general, commander of U.S. Southern Command.

He was the Secretary of Homeland Security.

He was Trump's chief of staff from 2017 to early 2019. And he is a gold star parent.

Kelly's career in the Marines started back in 1970 when his mother reportedly told him his draft number was coming up and he

decided to enlist.

He did a couple of years, went to college and then came back as an officer. He has a master's degree in National Security

Affairs and another master's in Strategic Studies.

Two weeks before the election, General Kelly emerged to remind anybody who would listen, who Trump is, by giving his assessment to the New York Times.

To cut to the chase, said Trump fits quote the general definition of fascist

Kelly has defined the term as quote a far-right authoritarian, ultra-nationalist political ideology and movement characterized

by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy.

General Kelly said he felt compelled to speak out after Trump's statements about turning the military against the people of the United States.

Apparently, Trump's enemy within rhetoric got him the headlines he desperately craves.

But they also reminded people of what his term was like.

Kelly is not endorsing Harris, because he feels it's inappropriate for a former general to do so.

But he made it very clear that he doesn't support Trump, even if he liked some of his policies.

He said, quote, it's a very dangerous thing

to have the wrong person elected to high office.

He also told the paper about a time Trump had said he wished his generals were more obedient and loyal to the head of state, like quote German generals.

According to General Kelly, Trump later clarified he meant German generals from a specific period in time.
