Well, howdy there, internet people? It's Bell again. So today, we're going talk about political fear-mongering, not working on younger generations. We've gotten a question that is really specific, but also has a much wider

application about fear-mongering politics in general, and when it works and when it doesn't.

So here's the message.

Quote, I was fascinated by the idea of Gen Z, and it probably applies to millennials too,

being more open to socialism, or my preference, social democracy, because of Republican branding social safety

nets as socialism, and the fact that Cold War propaganda now describes the U.S. government

pretty accurately. But don't you think the Republican Party will just find new ways to fearmonger about it and how it might impact

the economy? So, what is fear? I mean that literally. What is it? It's the body's response

when it identifies a threat. Your brain identifies a threat and your body reacts. Okay, so what's a threat? It's something

that has the potential to cause harm, damage, or danger to someone or something you care about.

That's the basis for a lot of right-wing talking points. They take something people care about and then they manufacture a threat against it to trigger

fear.
