Well, howdy there, internet people, it's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about flooding

and tips on how to stay safe. Heavy storms have created flooding in a number of places in the

U.S., but Kentucky seems to be incredibly hard hit. Tens of thousands without power. Emergency services have had to

conduct more than a thousand rescues. It looks pretty bad. Governor Bashir warned that more

outages could occur. He framed it as a thing that might happen. But from tone, it seemed like

something he thought was likely.

From our experience, yes, more outages are likely.

Keep your stuff charged while you can.

We're going to take this moment to do a little PSA on how to stay safe during and after

floods.

First, and this seems very important in this case, stay off the roads.

If it's at all possible, stay off the roads.

It looks like nine people have been lost in this so far,

and it looks like a majority of them have been in cars.

If something happens suddenly and you

find yourself in a vehicle in floodwaters, depending on the situation, it might be advisable

to roll down the windows so you can get out quickly if you need to. The water pressing on

the doors can leave you trapped.

Again, that's situation dependent.

The best advice is to stay off the roads.

Try to avoid walking through floodwaters.

They're often contaminated with chemicals or things that are, well, gross.
