Well, howdy there, Internet people? It's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about

Trump's policies and executives telling Americans ahead of time that tariffs are going to raise

prices. Those who believed Trump's economic claims are getting more and more reason to doubt.

A number of people associated with large U.S. companies are already trying to get the word out so American consumers are

ready for what could be on the horizon. The CEO of AutoZone said, quote, if we get tariffs, we will pass those tariff costs back to the consumer.

That's pretty blunt, but not every American realizes how that will impact their costs overall.

Now, there's some information that can't, well, shouldn't be ignored. It's something that will impact

most Americans. Here's the quote. Our model is everyday low prices, but there probably will be

cases where prices will go up for consumers. That's Walmart's CFO. He also said, quote, we've been living under a tariff

environment for seven years, so we're pretty familiar with that. Tariffs, though, are inflationary

for customers. So we want to work with suppliers and with our own private brand assortment

to try to bring down prices.

In a different interview, he pointed it out again, saying, quote,

If we look back historically when tariffs were enacted seven years ago, it did result in higher

prices for customers.

Seven years ago.

Oh, the first round of Trump tariffs did result in higher prices.

So the inflation came from where again?

In a separate statement, Walmart said, quote,

We're concerned that significantly increased tariffs could lead to increased costs for our customers at a time when they are still feeling the remnants of inflation.

The remnants of inflation. Because they're back down to close to levels economists thinker ideal.
