Well, howdy there internet people, Let's Bow again. So today we are going to talk about Florida and we are going to talk about mosquitoes.

We're going to talk about how to deal with something. If you are somebody who

resides in Miami-Dade or Broward, definitely pay attention.

Or if you plan on going there anytime soon,

definitely pay attention.

Some of y'all knew this was coming and it is here. Okay, there have been multiple cases of locally acquired dengue fever down in Broward and Miami-Dade. Okay, this isn't really a surprise. We kind of knew this was coming. So this is what Florida

health put out.

Dingay is spread by the bite of an infected mosquito and is not normally present in Florida.

However, infected travelers can bring the virus back to Florida mosquitoes. This is an important

distinction because you have people who are like but we we have cases of

Dingo all the time. These are locally acquired. These aren't people who

went somewhere where it is common, got it and came back and then the symptoms showed. These are

locally acquired cases. Okay, so first what do you need to do to not get it? You need to avoid getting bitten by

mosquitoes. That's really the driving factor there. So if you have a bucket of water outside that has

standing water in it, you know because it rains all the time, you need to

flip it over. You don't want to provide them any locations to make

more mosquitoes. I know it's hot, I know it's humid, if you are in an area where there are a lot of mosquitoes which pretty much all of Florida

wear long sleeves. If you are somebody who prepares bags or kits or provides assistance to those who don't have

permanent addresses, those sleeping rough, you might want to

start including mosquito netting.
