Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about China saying Trump is trying to catch the wind.

Trump has repeatedly indicated that China and the US are in trade talks.

We've talked about how there are no known talks, or even rumors of talks.

China has denied talks are taking place.

This is really important because a lot of the current stock market climb, in return of some semblance of stability,

is based on the idea that China and the U.S. are working towards a resolution.

Trump was asked about China saying there

weren't any ongoing talks, and he said, quote, they had a meeting this morning. Then randomly

added, it doesn't matter who they is. Yeah, that doesn't seem weird at all. What's the reality of the situation? China is still

hitting the U.S. with trade barriers and responses. China canceled 12,000 metric tons of pork purchases.

So, what do you think China said about the whole thing? Well, China's Commerce Ministry spokesperson said, quote,

China's position is consistent, and we are open to consultations and dialogue, but any form of

consultations and negotiations must be conducted on the basis of mutual respect and in an equal

manner. Any claims about the progress of China- and in an equal manner.

Any claims about the progress of China-U.S. trade negotiations are groundless as trying to catch the wind and have no factual basis. Ouch. Then the spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry

said, quote, China and the U.S. are not having any

consultation or negotiation on tariffs, still less reaching a deal. That's pretty definitive about

what's currently happening. Nothing. That seems to actually line up with what's really occurring,

despite Trump's claims.

What's happening is that Trump is trying to get China to the table, and so far, they'd rather stand.

What would it take to get them to the table? Well, China has signaled about that, too.
