Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about chaos in the GOP house over the ACA deadline.

We have a question we're going to get to at the end of this.

But first, we have to go through the timeline that leads up to the question.

Early yesterday, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson said he would not allow a House vote to

extend expiring Affordable Care Act subsidies this week. The ACA subsidies are causing a lot of

discord in the Republican Party.

Representative Mike Lawler of New York, for lack of a better term, straight up lost it, saying, quote,

I think it's idiotic not to have an up or down vote on this issue. It's political malpractice.

He went on to say that it was absolute BS. Then a group of vulnerable Republicans confronted Speaker Johnson in a closed-door meeting.

Lawler went on to explain, allowing the expiration was a, mistake. Then the report on the GOP health care

patchwork came out that said it would cause 100,000 more people to be uninsured each year until

2035. In short, the GOP health care plan doesn't work. By the end of the day,

there was still no resolution about a vote on extending the ACA subsidies, with many Republicans

looking at using a discharge petition to force a vote on the issue.

And that brings us to the question.

Bell, why on earth are Republicans doing this to themselves with the ACA?

It's political insanity.

It's like the leadership is trying to cause them to lose the midterms.

Destroying the health care of millions isn't going to be forgotten by the midterms.

Please, I'm an independent voter that leaned Republican until the midterms of Trump's first term.
