Well, howdy there internet people? It's Bell again. So today we're going to talk about the House

GOP, Secretary of State Blinken, and a subpoena. The Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Representative Michael McCall, sent a subpoena

to the Secretary of State Blen demanding he come before the committee and provide testimony

by September 19th. The committee once the committee

once information about the withdrawal and McCall said

Blenkin was quote in a position to inform the committee's

consideration of potential legislation

aimed at helping prevent the catastrophic mistake of the withdrawal, including

potential reforms to the department's legislative authorization.

A State Department spokesperson said Blincken will be traveling doing his job during this period

and that the department proposed quote reasonable alternatives for dates that were denied by the committee.

Of course there's the Republican threat to hold Blinking in contempt.

As you're wondering whether or not this is serious congressional business or just another political stunt using the military,

here are some things to keep in mind.

Blinking has testified about the withdrawal from Afghanistan more than a dozen times.

Four of those were before McCall.

A state spokesperson said while listing off the level of cooperation, quote, this includes four times

directly before Chairman McCall's committee, including at a previous hearing

that focused exclusively on Afghanistan.

All while the department was providing the committee

with nearly 20,000 pages of department records,
