Well, howdy there internet people it's Bell again. So today we're going to talk

about Washington, Oregon, and ballot boxes and what we know so far. Two areas in the Pacific Northwest where the majority of people

vote via mail or ballot box drop-offs saw what is likely a totally foreseeable

outcome from the baseless and irresponsible rhetoric

being pushed by some politicians and pundits. On Monday, local authorities in

two counties responded to incidents at ballot boxes where

somebody attempted to burn the boxes. This comes after a September

bulletin from the Department of Homeland Security, advising that, quote,

some social media users are discussing and encouraging various methods

of sabotaging ballot drop boxes and avoiding detection, likely heightening the

potential for targeting of this election infrastructure through the 2024

election cycle. It also said quote election infrastructure remains an

attractive target for some domestic violent extremist and other threat

actors with election-related grievances who seek to disrupt the

Democratic process and election operations. The votes in the box in Portland, Oregon are mostly fine and authorities seem to have

figured out a way to contact those whose ballots were impacted.

However, the one in Vancouver, Washington was not as lucky, and officials have said to contact

them if you believe your ballot might have been impacted.

The box in question is reportedly the one at Fisher's Landing Transit Center.

Vancouver is in Washington's third congressional district, which is a competitive House seat where a few hundred votes might

actually matter. Law enforcement believes that both of these incidents and an

early incident on October 8th are connected based on evidence
