He was born July 2nd, 1925, and he walked 12 miles to school every day, for real.

And uh, 1943, joined the military.

Sir, from 1943 to 1945, Darren World War II, fought at the Battle of Normandy.

1948, he enrolled in Alcorn Agricultural and Mechanical School.

That's Alcorn State University today. He got married in 1951. Had three kids.

In 1954 was Brown versus Board of Education. So he applied for the University of Mississippi law school.

He was denied due to his race.

But that same year, he was made first field secretary of the N-W-A-C-P in Mississippi.

There he organized boycotts, marches.

He forced-multly, made sure that other people could do what he did. Organized voting drives. Really put himself
