Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about an amendment to allow Trump a third term.

Okay, a House Republican from Tennessee proposed an amendment to the Constitution that would allow Trump to run for a third term.

Representative Andy Ogles announced the joint resolution to alter the 22nd

Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. If it made it through, the Constitution would be amended

to include, quote, no person shall be elected to the office of the President more than three

times, nor be elected to the office of the president more than three times, nor be elected

to any additional term after being elected to two consecutive terms.

And no person who has held the office of president or acted as president for more than two

years of a term to which some other person was elected president

shall be elected to the office of the president more than twice.

Let's start with the obvious part. This isn't happening. The process to amend the Constitution

is not an easy one. It's supposed to be hard. I doubt this gets out of phase

one, which is making it through Congress. If it does, it would then need to be ratified

by the state legislatures of 38 states. Just a general reminder, days into Trump's presidency and 22 have already filed suit against him.

Further, dimming prospects is that the Democratic Party has control of 19 state

Senate. That means even if every single other state Senate voted to ratify, they don't have the votes. I'll put an explainer on the amendment process down below.

It's not easy.

So, this is purely a show bill to keep his base energized.

That brings us to something that I find so very, very funny.

Republicans are absolutely terrified of President Obama.

That line, nor be elected to any additional term after being elected to two consecutive terms.
