Hey everybody, this is Larry Wilmore, Black on the Air. Welcome to the show. Very good

0:11.8

show today. I have a chat with Kerry Champion from ESPN, Coast to Coast. We had really a lot

0:17.2

of fun. I think you're going to enjoy it for all of my sports peeps out there. We talk

0:22.4

about the finals, women in broadcasting, sports broadcasting, and we even get our Laker

0:29.7

love out there. Kerry like me is a huge Laker fan, so I think you're going to enjoy that.

So I'm recording this on Wednesday morning, June 14th, if you're listening. And it's in

0:41.7

the backdrop of this shooting that just happened. So it's kind of a somber morning, not my usual

0:46.8

mirth making type of morning. It's always really sad when these things happen. Definitely

0:54.0

my thoughts got to representative Scalice. I think they said he was third in line or something

0:59.6

like that. He might be the majority whip. I'm not sure of his exact position, but it's just

1:17.6

on the nightly show before where when you do have these shootings and so many of them occur

1:23.0

that aren't publicized to people who are against guns, you know, see it as an opportunity

1:29.4

to speak against gun control. People who are for guns for the protection, see it as an

1:34.6

opportunity to make their case, you know. And I always feel I don't have a problem with

1:39.1

people making a case when these things happen. Some people feel it's not an appropriate

1:44.1

time to make it, but I don't know. Sometimes it is appropriate. I think if you're making

1:49.9

a tactful argument because sometimes it is easier for people to hear when these things

1:54.2

happen. I don't think you should be exploitive of the situation in any way. I don't think

1:59.3

you should do that. Of course, especially if you're a lawmaker, I think it can be an

2:04.2

opportunity to make your case. Many times it doesn't make a difference though, whether
