It's incredibly important to ensure that the public has a level of confidence in the

rule of law, in the government, in the independence of the press. Right now they don't trust

business, they don't trust Congress, they don't trust the press, and that is really, really

troubling. That's Christine Todd Whitman. She's the former governor of New Jersey, the former

head of the EPA under George W. Bush, and part of a dying breed. She's a moderate Republican.

This week we'll talk about what it's like to disagree with the president when you're

in the cabinet, and why bipartisanship has become something of a dirty word. I'm especially

happy to be talking with Governor Whitman this week because as you may know, she and I have

launched a task force that we're co-chairing with the Brennan Center on democracy and

how we can improve and solidify our institutions, even in the face of attack by this president.
