Not sure if today it's going to be a walk or a scavenger hunt.

Welcome to Walking is Fitness, a daily podcast providing a little added motivation to get out and take the walk.

Today's 10-minute walk, or scavenger hunt, get started right after this.

I had so much fun doing that episode at Huntington Beach State Park looking for the alligator,

where I gave the walk either a, this is successful or this is a failure, sort of, based on whether the objective

is met to find an alligator.

Today I'm going to expand on that theme and I am pretty certain that based on that rating scale, that judgment system, that today's walk

will be a fail, but, but, but, but, but, it won't be because it's going to be a lot of fun.

So during today's 10 minute walk, it is a scavenger hunt. I have a list of 10

things that I want to see during the walk. Five, I'm pretty certain I will see. Five, if I see

just one of those, I'll be excited. So I'm looking for a cardinal, a swan, a duck, a goose, a heron, batman bird, I'll explain that

more in a moment, a snake, beaver, a coyote, and cicada.

So that's my list of 10 things, so it's a nature scavenger hunt.

I'm walking beside a lake and already on the other side of the lake, I've got ducks.

So we can put an X by the duck. All right. And there's a heron. So we'll put a X by the heron. That was a little, little baby heron. Sometimes the herons are big and stately. That one was a little gray heron. There's also something else, so the ducks are on the other side of the pond.

And are they ducks or are they geese?

Hmm.

I think those are...

geese?

They're kind of grayish and they blend in.
