He's going to share some of his insights into working with Gen Z and then share some common

lies that many generations of Christians believe. Shane, great to have you on Take Lace.

It's an honor to be here, Kirk. Thanks for having me.

I love this book, Nine Common Lies that Christians Believe.

And you have a picture of a jackalope on there. Yes. So this mythical character representing the myths that Christians believe. Exactly. Yeah, I'm from Texas. So, you know, jackalopes, we kind of joke around about those. You all the time. Yeah, yeah, we go jackalope hunting. That's right. There's no season that's closed to Jackalow County in Texas.

Yeah, that's right.

You're around.

Well, your title... Yeah, yeah, we go jackaloupe hunting. That's right. There's no season that's closed to jackalow hunting, Texas.

Yeah, that's right. You're around. Well, your title is the next gen director. Yes. But you say in your

writings that Christian young people are not just the future of the church. They are the church now.

Right. Why is that important? Yes, so I always say the next generation, and often when you talk about the next generation, you're talking about kiddos, teenagers, college students, young adults. I would say they may be the next generation, but they're the right now church. We're always telling, especially Christian young people, that, hey, you're the future of the church, you're the future of the church. But believe this, if you've been bought by the blood of Jesus and you have the Holy Spirit of God, you are the church right now, that you have a calling on your life now, you're called to make disciples now, you're called to the Great Commandment, Great Commission right now. In fact, theologically speaking, if you think about it, the future of the church is spiritually

lost people who have yet to be reached with the gospel because the moment they get reached

with the gospel, they become the church right now too.

Wow. So Gen Z is a bit of a mystery to many of us who have children or have grandchildren.
