Summary

After a dramatic dinner, the disciples are left feeling confused, distressed, and despairing over the events they are watching unfold. Perhaps you can relate to those feelings as troubling things happen in your life and the world around you. Fortunately, Jesus gave the remedy to combat a troubled heart in John 14:1, and as we follow His commands, we can find peace, hope, and comfort in any situation.

You might call John chapter 13 one dark night in Jerusalem.

Does that sound ominous?

but we need to switch it because in our text,

at your house that would go like the last supper? Picture this. Somebody strips themselves

of their clothes, wraps themselves with

1:12.1

a towel and starts washing all your all's feet. That's the first thing that happened. And then not

1:17.3

like that, but it's Jesus who's washing the feet. Peter says, Lord, you should be washing my feet.

1:21.1

I should be washing yours. And Jesus says something, again, ominous. He says, Peter, unless you let me

wash your feet, I can have no
