But I feel like the feminist movement and feminism in general has really killed femininity. Because, you know, what society is telling girls now is that in order for you to be successful, in order for you to be everything you need to be, you just listening to Why They Did That, a show that explores the motivations of biblical characters and how their choices can guide yours.

Today's guest is one who is very near and dear to the hearts of all those that work tirelessly on making this podcast.

Tiffany Fisher has been a member of our team for two years now, and she's one of those people

that you just want to have around, always helpful, always willing, and always full of really

bright ideas, and she can articulate them really well, too.. Now Tiffany was born in Loma Linda University

Hospital in Southern California. And after graduating with a bachelor's degree in nursing from

Weimar University, her life has now come full circle. She's employed as a registered nurse

in the emergency pediatric division of the exact same hospital she was born in.

And when she's not saving little kiddo's lives, she's usually whipping up a storm in the kitchen.

And she's a serious baking talent too.

But perhaps more relevant to why they did that, Tiffany is a deep student of the scriptures, with a special eye for

lessons women young and old can grasp from the word. So when we sat down to discuss this

episode, the logical choice was to dive into the inspiring story of the Bible's first

female prophet and judge, Deborah. Now, we've spent a fair bit of time in the

book of judges on this show. It really does make for really interesting storytelling, whether it be

Samson's up and down relationship with God or Gideon's bravery coupled with his own idolatry. It's

fair to say that at this time Israel is a mess.

And while we are introduced to a number of judges throughout the book, Deborah really does stand out.

Not because of what she is, yes, a woman, but because of who she is.

She's a real leader, not one that requires sword and shield, but tact and wisdom and a deep

and constant connection to her God.
