The second section of Psalms, known as the Exodus Psalms, remind us that the God who redeemed us is still with us.

In fact, he is promised to never leave us or forsake us.

There are some things you cannot choose for yourself.

For example, you didn't get to choose when you were born or where you were born, who your parents were.

Well, if they would name you, you didn't get to choose your gender, any of that.

That was all in the hands of a sovereign God.

So there's some things you cannot choose for yourself. Then there's some things you cannot choose for yourself.

Then there are other things you must choose for yourself.

For example, no one can choose Christ for you.

Joshua 2415, Joshua said,

Choose ye this day, whom you will serve.

So you have to choose.

You're given a free will and the responsibility to decide. Life is full of choices. You must choose for yourself. And then there's another category of things. There's some things you cannot choose for yourself, things you must choose for yourself. And then there are a few things that you may choose for yourself. But you would be much wiser to let God choose for you. I love the words of the old missionary Jim

Elliot. He said God always gives his best to those who leave the choice with him. We've come in our

study of the Psalms to Psalm 47 and it's a beautiful Psalm. It is a jubilant Psalm. Most people believe

it was the Psalm that was written when the ark was taken back up to the temple.

Remember it had been away for some time and they finally bring it back and there's great jubilation and celebration.

That's the tone of Psalm 47. It's only nine verses long, but there's an amazing verse that's captured my attention.

I want to share it with you today. It's verse four.
