One of the problems we have in the church is that we use our faith for anesthesia only.

Come to church to feel better.

And so you get a shot of anesthesia to deal with all the hurts in your life, all the pain in your life, all the suffering in your life.

But anesthesia only works.

Ask any doctor, they'll tell you, anesthesia is only as good as you use it to deal with the core problem.

Numbing the pain won't cure the disease, but Jesus can.

would just pray. You know, I didn't know what my grandmother's knees looked like. Just holy women.
