Today I recited Surah Abasa in the first raka and we are all familiar with the story of Surah Abasa.

In fact, interestingly, some people find it awkward to mention this story and this awkwardness

is problematic because Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala revealed the Surah about this story and we

should not feel awkward to mention this story and to mention the Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala about this

Surah. In other words, before I even begin, the sentiment of feeling awkward needs to be removed

from our hearts because when we feel awkward or some people feel awkward, in reality this awkwardness

is an awkwardness against Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. We have to be careful here, right?

Some people have even heard them say, oh, we shouldn't talk about Surah Abasa as if

Astaghfirullah speaking about Surah Abasa is disrespectful but then who spoke about Surah Abasa?

Who reveals Surah Abasa? Why is it in the Quran? So the first thing even before we begin,

we need to eliminate this misconception which is hugely problematic. That we should ignore Surah Abasa.

Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, it's as if the itterad awudhu billahi is against Allah Himself. Do you

understand when somebody says we should not talk about Surah Abasa? This means as if

Astaghfirullah Allah Himself is revealing something we should not talk about. On the contrary,

there is a reason why Allah revealed it and frankly to be brutally honest, if we understood that

of see we would understand there's nothing to feel awkward about. If we understood the real story

and that of see of the Surah, there's nothing to feel awkward about. Of course the khulasa or the

summary of the story is well known and that is that the Prophet ﷺ was speaking with al-Walid,

the father of Khalid, Khalid al-Walid, the father al-Walid al-Murriyra, and he felt that al-Walid

...
