This big, tall, scarred face Somalis, about six foot three.

They told me about coming to Jesus in Somalia, escaping, about being shot in the face.

But this one baby died of malnutrition, and they hadn't seen each other for five years.

And the five of them cried out to God, does anybody care whether we're alive or dead?

And the Holy Spirit told those five families separate from each other to go to go day where I was staying.

And we want to know, are you the one that God has promised?

And I reached in my T-shirt pocket, and I read the five names on that card and those five

Somali brothers jumped away from me and said where in the name of God did you get our names and I said

well I need to tell you my story welcome everybody this is Simon Gilber withired. Great to react for another fantastic week of hearing. Oh, I'm so excited about this week. I've been waiting a few months for this, basically, before we get into it, if you're new to inspired, it's all about meeting different friends and contacts of mine from around the world. You've done all sorts of different things and seen God at work.

And this week, we've got with us Nick Ripkin.

Hey, Salmon.

I am so delighted that you give us the honor of being on with you.

It's fantastic.

So Nick and Ruth, I first met 11 years ago. I know very

specifically when it was because I flew to Halifax for my 40th birthday and preaching at a

missions conference and we were the two sort of plenary session speakers. And Nick, you won't know

this, but basically, you know, you get jet lag flying across, you know, the time zones. And that jet lag basically didn't lead me for two years. I was kind of chronic fatigued for two years. It was, it was miserable. But actually, in God's providence, God used that time because I wrote probably my most read book, Choose Life in that time that I definitely wouldn't have because I was sidelined

for a while. So it was redeemed. I wouldn't wish that on myself again. Lord have mercy.

But anyway, I basically got out of bed to preach those several times that week. And I heard

you and I was saying to you, just before we did this live, 11 years on, I can remember three stories

from your talk.
