Welcome to our Friday's broadcast of the Gospel Truth.

Today is the end of my third week teaching on a subject that I have entitled Lessons from Elijah.

And I've been teaching for three weeks on television about Elijah. We've covered first kings, chapter 17 and 18,

and so far it's been nothing but success.

But now in chapter 19, we see one of the greatest failures of anybody in Scripture that cost Elijah a big time,

cost other people their lives to, he was responsible for the death of other people.

And so now we're beginning to share some warnings from the life of Elijah.

I've got this teaching entitled Lessons from Elijah, and it is powerful. I'd encourage you to please get it.

As I said, in first kings chapter 17 and 18, it's only been success on Elijah's part.

He has seen nothing but victory. God has used him to do things that nobody else in Scripture at that time had ever done.

In the 17th chapter, he raised a boy from the dead. He called for the end of a drought.

He outran a chariot in a 20 mile race. He had just been doing awesome, awesome things.

But in chapter 19, this is after he had this duel with the prophets of Bale, and he called fire down out of heaven.

The entire nation turned to God and said, the Lord, he is the God, the Lord, he is the God.

And I mean, he saw a revival of unprecedented proportions. It was awesome.

And he was just doing great things. But in the 19th chapter, he had already killed 850, maybe 450 to 850,

prophets of Bale and prophets of the groves. And he had had all of this success.
