What's up everybody? Welcome to the Colin and Samir show. Today we have a very special interview for you.

Hussein Minhaj is a master storyteller. I mean, he's someone that Samir and I have wanted to have on the show for a really long time.

It is truly a dream come true. And for me, as like a young Indian kid who is kind of exploring the bounds of storytelling and entertainment.

Seeing Hassan be able to succeed in the entertainment industry for me was really something that motivated me to actually be able to do what I do today.

Now, if you're unfamiliar with who he is, we'll give you a quick rundown.

He grew up in Northern California, started honing his craft doing stand-up comedy,

and actually has early roots on YouTube.

He was making sketch comedy videos under the name Goat Face Comedy.

Now, I came across him for the first time when he got his big break in 2014,

after he got his big break as the last correspondent hired by John Stewart on The Daily Show.

Then after four years on The Daily Show, he landed his own

series on Netflix called The Patriot Act, which ran for six seasons. And that show led to some of the

toughest times not only in his career, but also in his life. Well, Netflix under fire today after its

decision to pull an episode of a comedy show that was critical of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman,

hosted by comic Hassan

Minaj. So we sat down with Hassan the day before the release of his new comedy special,

The King's Jester. And that special talks about some of those times in his life, as well as

tells some deeply personal stories. It's a really, really interesting special. Samir and I actually got to see him

perform the show live here in Los Angeles. Now it's up on Netflix. I highly encourage you to go
