Lesson 63 of the Heartbeat of God. I'm your Bible study friend Kenoy. Welcome to the Heart Dive

0:04.1

podcast. Well, this is unfamiliar territory, right? I'm actually in my sister's house. I was trying to

0:16.8

film outside, which is where day one of 2023 Bible study took place. But it was way too windy,

0:22.5

so we are here in a corner of a bedroom. I'm hiding away from everybody so we can do Bible study

0:27.7

together. Today, we are in Numbers, chapters 21 and 22. One of my favorite stories of the

0:33.7

Bible where Baylach tries to get Baylam to curse Israel, you got a talking donkey. I mean, it's all kinds of good stuff. So we're gonna go ahead and jump on into that. But before we do, if you could please help us out, hit your roll call button, your thumbs up button. Also subscribe to the channel if you want to stick around for a bit and commenting along the way, doing all the things to help support our ministry is something we are always extremely grateful for. So let's go ahead and pray because I don't know how long my battery is going to last on my camera. So Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of technology. Thank you, Lord, for the ability to be able to study your word no matter where we are in the world. Thank you for this community, God, and every single person who is here. We are so grateful

1:11.2

that we get to come together and use these particular gifts, Lord, to be able to unite, to hear your word, to hear your voice. And so I just pray that you will speak to us, Holy Spirit, in such a special way. Forgive us, Lord, for our sins, clear out our hearts, anything that might be weighing upon our hearts today, Lord, we just lay it at the altar right now.

1:09.9

We ask Holy Spirit that you will cover us with you. out our hearts, anything that might be weighing upon our hearts today, Lord, we just lay it at the

1:28.2

altar right now. We ask Holy Spirit that you will cover us with your grace, your peace, your joy,

1:34.2

pray that you'll silence all of the noise, all of the voices that might be trying to compete for

1:39.2

your devotion. We want to be here solely for you. So thank you so much for allowing this to be a sacred time together.

1:46.2

We honor you, give you all of the praise and glory in Jesus' name.

1:49.5

Amen.

2:34.5

Amen. Now I do want to say I do not have an overhead camera today. So pause the video. If you do not have your Bible out, please get your Bibles because it's going to be a lot of me on camera today and our heartbeats. If you didn't get a chance, make sure you go back and screenshot those so that you have that available. I will be putting those up on the screen as well throughout this study. And we may start doing it this way anyway because we want you to be inside of your Bibles. And if you do not have a physical copy, of course, you can always get one online. There are tons of free versions out there. You can go to biblal.com, lots of free online resources. So we're starting off now in Numbers chapter 21. When the Canaanite, the king of Arad, who lived in the Negeb, heard that Israel was coming by the way of Atharram, he fought against Israel and took some of them

2:51.8

captive. So remember, they are on the way to the promised land. And what we are seeing here is that

2:56.3

there are going to be battles before the promise. If you've lived long enough on this earth,

3:00.9

you have faced many of battles, right, before the promise has been realized. And that is the case

3:05.4

here for Israel. But verse two, and Israel vowed a

3:08.7

vow to the Lord and said, if you will indeed give this people into my hand, then I will devote their

3:13.3

cities to destruction. So we are seeing the sovereignty of God here, and how he is the one who brings

3:19.4

the victory. So his people, they should be dependent upon him at this point. Verse three, and the Lord

3:25.6

heeded the voice of Israel and gave over the Canaanites, and they devoted them and their cities
