So we're in 1st Timothy, Chapter 5,

17 and 18.

It says the elders who rule well are to be considered

worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching.

For the scripture says, you shall not muzzle the ox while he is threshing, and the

laborer is worthy of his wages.

All right, let's go to the Lord in prayer.

Father, thank you for your word, thank you for your kindnesses,

your multiformed mercies, your love,

for everything that you have expressed unto us

in the person of Jesus Christ, thank you.

Lord, we would be nothing, we would have nothing if it were not for you

We praise you and we we worship you and we realize that even our ministries are an act of grace, a kindness on your part.

Oh God, please help us to respond in a rational manner, knowing the great gift that has been

given to us.

Help us, Lord, to use whatever gift, whether it is a gift of a good mind or bodily strength or education

or freedom. Let us use it all, Lord, for the benefit of your people in Jesus

name. Amen. Now he says that the elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor,
