| 0:39.9 | through this plan so that you can get a good understanding of God's redemptive story as he intended |
| 0:45.5 | it. Also make sure you download our Heartbeat of God document and our heartwork that will be |

Maybe let us know where you're watching from what day it is. But for me, it's Sunday and I got to get to church. So we're |
| 1:14.1 | going to go ahead and jump on in. But first, let's pray. So Heavenly Father, we never want to rush through your word, God. And so I just pray that you will quiet our hearts, still our spirits right now, Lord, as we desire to come before you in humility and read your word and just spend time in fellowship with you, |
| 1:29.5 | learning about you, drawing closer to you, God, because you promise us, Lord, that when we draw near to you, you will draw near to us. And so that is what we are doing here today. As we read your word, I pray that you will give us understanding. Pray that you open our eyes, give us revelation, Lord, help us to see things that we've never seen. Pray that we will hear your voice, your still small whisper, Lord. Holy Spirit, breathe upon this today. Let these words not be my own but yours, God. And may you get the glory through it all. Forgive us of our sins, cleanse our hearts now, Lord. Help us to have that spirit of freedom that you so desire for |
| 2:01.4 | us to have. We love you. Pray these things in Jesus' name. Amen. All right, we left off with Saul, |
| 2:06.2 | who was starting to rise up in his kingship, defeating the enemies. You know, he was going to war. |
| 2:11.7 | And so now we're going to see in chapter 15 where God actually rejects Saul. And this is not because God wants to |
| 2:18.8 | reject Saul, but he knew how Saul was going to be in his kingship. He knew his heart. And because |
| 2:24.8 | Saul did not respond in pure obedience, there is rejection that comes into play. So we start off |
| 2:31.0 | here in chapter 15, verse 1. And Samuel said to Saul, the Lord sent me to |
| 2:35.4 | anoint you king over his people Israel. Now therefore, listen to the words of the Lord, thus says |
| 2:41.0 | the Lord of hosts, I have noted what Amalek did to Israel in opposing them on the way when they came |
| 2:47.4 | up out of Egypt. Now go and strike Amalek and devote to destruction all that they |
| 2:51.5 | have and do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, |
| 2:57.4 | camel and donkey. The Lord is giving Saul a chance to carry out this mission of judgment, |
