Welcome to our Lent podcast.

Good morning. My name is Ryan Britt. This Lent season, we're working through some of the miracles Jesus performed during his life that are shared with us across the gospel accounts.

We're looking at how each of these miracles points us to the greatest of all miracles, which is the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

The miracle we're focused on today is found in Matthew chapter 15, verses 21 through 28.

And it says this, and Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and

Sidon.

And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying.

Have mercy on me, O Lord, son of David.

My daughter, severely oppressed by a demon, but he did not answer her a word.

And his disciples came and begged him, saying, send her away, for she is crying out after us.

He answered, I was sent only to the lost sheep of the House of Israel, but she came and

knelt before him saying, Lord, help me. And he answered, it is not right to take the children's

bread and throw it to the dogs?

She said, yes, Lord.

Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table.

Then Jesus answered, O woman, great is your faith.

Be it done for you as you desire. And her daughter was healed

instantly. Now, it seems that in the order of time that this miracle was performed shortly after

the miracle of the feeding of the 5,000. This point in time would have been a time of hardship and danger for Jesus.
