Each week here on the podcast, we talk about what we're going to read together as a community this week.

I'm your host, Amanda Bible Williams. And I'm your other host, Rachel Myers, and this is week three of our Lent study. We are reading the book of Psalms together as a community. And this week, we are joined here at the dining room table by our very dear friend, Ellie Holcomb. And when I say friend, I mean friend of the podcast, friend of ours personally, but such a dear friend, in fact, that we really forgot to have an official start to the conversation. We just started talking, and you're about to get to just jump right in there with us. Now, friends, Ellie is a recording artist. She is an author, a children's book author. She is just, has one of the most beautiful voices we've ever heard. We love her, and even more beautiful than her voice is her heart for Jesus and for God's word.

Let's get right into this conversation that is already going.

Well, it's so...

Which you have so many.

At rest in God alone, literally like the title for week three.

Wait, but I better know the melody. i like that i'm humming it when ellie is the other option my soul finds raised in god alone my salvation

comes from him it is like it's an amazing thing to me that there could be a melody that would carry a

truth that's been here for so long.

Thousands of years.

And it's just floating around.

And so I literally read it, Rest and Gonehmm. And I was like, oh, yeah,

that's a psalm. Yes. And it's right here. And it's still here. It's been here. And it remains.

And it will remain. Yeah. And that's the way, you guys, that's the way that the ancient church,

that's the way that Jesus and his disciples would have

interacted with the Psalms. They would have known a tune to go with, I would assume, many of them, most of them. Many of them.

It makes me want to cry. It's like so the beat of my heart. Yeah. Right? Because that's what you do to hide truth in your heart. That's right. And it's, and it literally, I wasn't like, I'm going to do this because I'm a musician and here's my job. I was trying to help my kids bury treasure in their heart and themselves. And myself. And I was like, I can't do this very well. It's hard by just saying it as words. Yeah. Yeah. What if I sang it? So it made me want to write a, I haven't done it yet, but I was like, oh, I want to write a song for the memory verse this week. So I'll get back to you on that. Oh. I think you should just write it live. Yeah, that's how, honestly.

We can totally do that. Absolutely. Yeah. That's like my... What's our verse? Okay, it is... Sorry, I'm flipping all the way to it. It's Psalm 115, right? It's a halal psalm, isn't it? Yes. It is. Yeah, all of the Mary verses are from HALL.
