I read the novel and I thought two things.

I thought I desperately want to make this into a film and I thought I will never have a chance

to make this into a film.

Irish indie director Lenny Abramson didn't expect author Emma Donahue would choose him to make a film based on her best-selling novel, Room.

Abramson tells us how he made his pitch to Donahue, and she explains why it worked.

They also talk about the challenges of making a film on a dark topic that people would still want to see.

You know, we could talk about Star Wars, but let's just say that everybody knows that Star Wars, the force has been awakened.

It's going to be gigantic.

Everyone's going to see it.

I don't know what else to say.

I mean, I will just briefly say, I do,

I think rival studios are now at the stage impalpable fear of the Disney machine with Star Wars, Pixar,

Marvel, all of it. They are in palpable fear that Disney has won with the movies, and that's it.
