Summary

In this episode, Don sits down with Democratic strategist and consultant Chuck Rocha to break down the chaos unfolding in Washington, D.C. The GOP is rattled. Trump is visibly anxious. And with the explosive release of the Epstein emails, the former president’s frantic attempts to deny, distract, and cover up are only making him look more guilty and more desperate. Don and Chuck unpack the mood inside the Capitol, the fear gripping MAGA world, and what these revelations might mean for Trump’s future. Then they take a deep dive into the massive shift in the Latino vote during Tuesday’s Democratic sweep. Why did it happen? What changed? And what does this mean heading into the 2026 midterms? Look who we're lucky enough to have on the Don Lemon show today.

0:16.0

Chuck Rocha is the founder and president of Solidarity Strategies, a senior Democratic strategist and a CBS News contributor. Thank you, sir. Good to have you on. How are you? It's good to see you, my friend. And thanks for having me on the show. Yeah, look, we're all doing well. I hope you're doing well. We're trying to stay warm here. We're also trying to keep up with what's going on in the world. So I want to talk to you about the news of the day. And then we're going to talk about what happened last Tuesday during that election and

0:41.1

specifically about Latino voters.

0:42.8

So Chuck, what do you make of this, you know, these droppings that are happening every day

0:49.0

from the Epstein files?

0:50.3

Because it seems that the administration, in my estimation, they appear to be running scared

0:54.8

or at least covering something up. What do you say? Well, you know, the way I look at it is I don't

1:00.4

know if Donald Trump did anything wrong. I don't know what Donald Trump did in these documents,

1:04.8

but I do know that Donald Trump is working real, real hard to make sure nobody sees them and that

1:10.3

he says, don't worry, there's no

1:11.4

there there. Now, I've been doing campaigns for 36 years, a long time. And when you have

1:16.5

opposition who's this worried, there's definitely something going on there. And I think the

1:21.1

American people see that as well. And I said this this morning on an earlier show. And it's

1:24.9

important for everybody to know is that the reason he's in

1:28.3

this position and it's his own fault is that he's fed his base and all of the pods say, all of

1:35.0

the folks out there talking about this. That's how he got elected is he fed them all this

1:39.2

Epstein stuff. And then when he got elected, he just acted like it went away. And those folks

1:43.2

are hungry to hear what happened. folks are hungry to hear what happened.

1:45.6

They're hungry to hear what happened. Look, I agree with you. No one knows what, you know, you don't know if Donald Trump did anything wrong or not. But, you know, when people act like they're guilty, folks become suspicious. Again, we don't know if he's did anything wrong, but folks become suspicious.

2:07.0

And we can only, you know, logically conclude that something is trying to be covered up.

2:12.6

We don't know what it is. Maybe he's protecting some other people or whatever it is, but it seems to be a crisis of his own making.

2:36.2

Absolutely. And think about what he did with the United States House of Representatives. I know we'll get to the news of the day, which is a lot to have to do with this, but also the Speaker of the House shut down the house and sent them home for like 55 days because he did not want to deal with having to turn over these files. Yesterday, my good friend, Adelita Grahaova, the daughter of the great Raul Grahava, was sworn into Congress.
