Ali Maxwell, my friend George Ellick, high spirits this morning as we enjoyed a fairly dramatic

weekend in the EFL. It was the final day of League 1 and League 2. It was the penultimate weekend of the championship season.

And therefore, we have promotions and relegations to talk about and so much more as well.

And with my friend George, who supports Oxford United, they were very much in the midst of a big playoff battle in League 1.

I feel like this is where the dynamic between us has just changed.

You've introduced me there as Oxford fan George as if I'm just like a guy on the Annie Maxwell

show, which maybe I am.

Well, I didn't mean it to come across like that.

I just wanted to bring you in early on an emotional level because we try where possible

to be rational in our discussion

of these three crazy leagues but underpinning all of it is pure passion and emotion both our

own for these leagues but also just the way that football works the the reason it is our favourite thing, the reason

it is the most popular sport in this country, the reason why we have four fully professional

leagues, the reason why across the championship league one and league two, every single week,

hundreds of thousands of fans attend games and hundreds of thousands of other fans follow their

club across the whole world. It's down to love and love equals emotion and that's what

you felt on Saturday when Oxford made the playoffs. Spoiler alert. Yes, it was, I seems to often

be the case these days when I'm not at a game for various

reasons this time round. It was because realistically I couldn't not be on top of league two in

championship that kicked off at three o'clock. I'm always sad that I'm not at games and enjoying
