1:19.4 | through divorce. Instead she convinced her lover and two additional accomplices to murder her husband. |
1:26.5 | Once the deed was done, they tossed his mangled corpse down a well to hide their crime. |
1:31.2 | Their conspiracy was undone though when one of the killers got sloppy and |
1:34.9 | started showing off a pair of shoe buckles that he had pilfered from the late |
1:38.9 | Mr. Spooner. Everyone involved was arrested and put on trial. |
1:43.4 | The widow's spooner tried to delay her execution to spare the life of her unborn child, |
1:48.3 | but the doctors who examined her didn't believe that she was pregnant at all. |
1:52.1 | And so, on July 2nd of 1778, she was hanged. |
1:57.2 | An autopsy later revealed that Bathsheba was, in fact, with child, a boy, only five months |
