listeners will know just this week the New York Times ran a story about a lawsuit we were involved in. We talk about that at the

beginning of this episode so we don't say anything more about that. Yeah the other topic for today is the three Supreme Court rulings that came down at the end of their session. Those being the ruling on

Biden's student loan forgiveness program and the affirmative action case and the gay wedding design website case which is about the first

amendment and carving out a place in civil rights law for homophobia. As always we're grateful to our partners at dissent and now more than ever because dissent was named in that

All right Sam you shall we get started. Let's do it. As always I'm excited to record with you especially because today is a Matt and Sam episode. No interviews no guests just

Matt and Sam that's right I get to podcast with one of my best buds all and this is a legal centric episode of know your enemy. We're going to talk about for most of the

episode the recent Supreme Court cases on affirmative action student debt cancellation and a first amendment case about making websites for gay people. The horse the unimaginable

horse of being a horse to make a website for Adam and Steve. And you know obviously given these are you know Supreme Court

decisions legal cases there's been a lot of commentary and even podcasting about the substance the legal reasoning of those cases including by our friends at five to four. I think they've done at least one

episode on the student debt cancellation which is to say Biden versus Nebraska and they didn't episode on three or three creative LLC versus

Alanis that's the gay wedding website case so check out our friends commentary and that but we want to do something a little different which is step back and kind of look at what these decisions might tell us about

conservative intellectuals the conservative legal movement conservative institutions and their strategies yeah kind of looking at what's happened from that angle. And I'm excited for that

conversation but we want to talk about something else first what is that Sam. Well if you are a coastal elite reader of the New York Times that you might have seen know your enemy made some news today specifically that a lawsuit that was filed against us by the young

Americans foundation in February was just resolved because our opponents the plaintiffs withdrew the lawsuit. But that's to say that this has been something that's been hanging over the podcast and me and Matt for several months and we haven't
