Tulane University professor Carissa Haugeberg teaches a class about the legal

history of abortion in the United States from the 1840s through 2016. She discusses laws in the late

19th century that originally criminalized abortion, as well as Roe v. Wade in 1973, and the court cases

and legislation that followed that landmark decision. Her class is about an hour and 15 minutes.

So we're nearing the end of the semester, and today's lecture gives us a good way to kind of bring together a lot

of the themes that we've been studying all semester. So today we're going to be talking about

reproductive rights in U.S. history. And for today's reading, you read about jurisprudence
