In 1997, a children's book by an unknown author quietly appeared in bookstores.

The world unaware that this was the precipice of an unprecedented moment in literature.

And we were about to meet one of the 20th century's last iconic characters in the boy who lived.

JK Rowling's legendary Harry Potter series not only launched several multi-million

billion dollar industries. It made an indelible mark on our culture.

The seven books captured imaginations internationally and created a gateway to a simpler,

more magical world. Now, tears prior left behind also debuted on the bookshelf.

Kicking off a 16 book series spanning 12 years.

It's hard to convey how much impact the book series left behind had on modern evangelical

Christians. The Harry Potter might be an apt analogy. Both books delve into a fantastical

world beyond our own. But instead of every kid and young nerdy adult reading these books,

just think about every American Christian. In fact, it might be the perfect yin to Harry Potter's

yin since many Christian kids weren't even allowed to read Harry Potter. But they did get full

access to left behind the kids, a very real and not made up young adult series adaptation.

Jerry Falwell said about the debut book. In terms of its impact on Christianity,

it's probably greater than that of any other book in modern times. Outside the Bible.
