Summary

Grant connects with Leeds United's Jack Harrison, formerly of NYCFC and Wake Forest, and they have an entertaining discussion about Harrison's productive year in the Premier League; what he has learned about playing for the legendary manager Marcelo Bielsa; and his story of growing up in Man United's academy, deciding to decamp to the United States and then returning to England to make his mark on the professional game there. Hey there. Welcome to Football with Grant Wall. Thanks so much for joining me. Today's interview

0:12.8

guest is Jack Harrison, the leads United and former NYCFC player who's in a solid run

0:20.3

of form lately in the Premier League. We've had some great guests lately, including John

0:26.0

Burman, Brendan Aronson, and Pia Sunhaga. I also encourage you to check out my new podcast

0:32.9

series, American Prodigy, The Freddie Adieu Story. All eight episodes are out, and you

0:40.0

can binge all of them to your heart's content. Now, here's my interview with Jack Harrison.

0:48.5

Our guest now is Jack Harrison, the former New York City and Wake Forest player who's

0:54.9

now excelling for leads United in the Premier League with five goals and four assists heading

1:01.2

1:06.7

on the show. Thank you for having me. I'll have the listeners know you're wearing a New

1:13.5

York Yankees hat. So it's nice to see you still representing. I'm exactly always after

1:18.0

representing where I can. Now, this interview comes out on Thursday, but we're speaking

1:25.0

on Monday. Your leads team just had a big three one win at Lester City, you scored for

1:33.2

the second straight game. Your team had lost to this same Lester team four to one earlier

1:39.4

this season. What changed in your approach to this game that caused things to turn around

1:46.3

for you? I think with Marcelo, the amount of analysis work that we do, it's always difficult

1:52.4

for teams to repeat results like that against us because as a team, we always try to be

1:58.3

as prepared as we can going into each game. So if there's a new system tactically or something

2:05.8

like that, we'll know about it and we'll be prepared. And I think even in the second half

2:11.2

of when we played against Lester, the first 10 minutes, I think they changed the formation and

2:18.6

we were disorganised for a little bit, but after reviewing it early on in the week,

2:23.6

we were able to adjust quite quickly once we knew what we were doing. So it's just little things
