Hey friends, how you doing? Sweet, me too. This is the evening where I get to be a part

of a church community that has come to me and a lot to me over the last year talking about

the thing that I love to talk about more than anything else and that's biblical literature.

So this is my idea of a very, very good time. So I'll try and contain my enthusiasm. And

just one other note on that. This is a very meaningful moment for me in a way that I can't

fully explain, but this church community has become a home for me and my family, my wife

Jessica and our two little boys over the last year. And in ways that I'm still trying to

find words and what words to put them to in ways that even like right now, I'm having

a hard time talking clearly. This has been a season of immense renewal in my own life and

my journey of following Jesus and you all are a part of that journey and we're on it

together as a church family, aren't we? And I just, I don't have the words to express

my gratefulness. And so anything that I have to say that is helpful or insightful tonight

is my way of saying thank you to y'all and to the leadership here and to the presence

of Jesus that's doing something really, really amazing in our midst and we're a part of that

tonight. The title for this evening was Tyler's idea, a God of love and a world of suffering.

And you know, a person could look at that title and walk away thinking, okay, this is going

to be like an evening where there's going to be a talk and the talk is going to be about

like the huge themes of God's love and God's justice and the problem of evil and human

suffering and the book of Job is going to answer all those questions for us. And you know,

it is kind of way as I can, I'll just say, no, kind of, kind of. And even it's funny to

watch that video which was researched and written by my past self because the nature of

Scripture is it's a kind of literature that doesn't give up all of its secrets on the
