we're going to be talking some Lakers basketball. One of the great things about AMP,

talk about it a lot. It is their vast music library that lets us play a number of different song choices at the beginning of the show.

Sometimes I like to just play a song because I want to hear it.

Other times I play a song because it's got certain meaning for that show.

And today, that's the case.

I went with a cover of the Don Henley classic Boys of Summer.

It's covered by the Atari's, one of my favorite versions of the song they

changed a few words deadhead sticker on a Cadillac became black flag sticker on a Cadillac and

things like that but for the most part stayed true to the theme of the original it kind of

fits the theme of the band as well as in addition to the theme of this show.

When we talk about getting older, we look at LeBron James.

Boys of Summer is a song not just that reminds us of a lot of cases, baseball, because

typically we think of baseball, we think of Boys of Summer, but also something that reminds us

of aging, getting older.

That's what the song is about.

In fact, the band themselves, the Atari's, their name is a throwback to a bygone era.

If you remember, back in my time, we had an Atari video game system, which was a thing.

Their album that this song comes from,

Boys of Summer, is called So Long Astoria, Astoria, Oregon referencing the movie The Goonies,

which is a classic that my generation, again, grew up on. Actually, I don't know if you still can. You used to be able to go visit the Goonies
