How's it going?

So we're here in Charlotte and as always hoping to encourage and equip you with these weekly podcasts.

This one was really pretty interesting because three times this very week, three of our volunteers

came to me with basically the same question. And that's the crux of this podcast.

They said they all three had seen some pretty awful things. We always see awful things on the

sidewalk, but this was for them all pretty particularly awful and sorrowful. And they said,

how do you fully engage your heart? Do what you need to do. Feel the level of compassion, the

gravity of what you're facing while you're on the sidewalk. And then when your shift is up,

disengage and be able to leave all that behind you, go home and live your life without guilt

and without sorrow. That's basically the crux of their question.

Yeah. Yeah. I think there's a sense in which as we talked about this episode before we started

recording, there's a sense in which you feel guilty when you leave the sidewalk, you feel guilty

for kind of going on with your life, right? You feel guilty. Okay, after you get in with the sidewalk,

if you're there in the morning and you're hungry, you go eat lunch. Yeah. And like realizing,

okay, I just left from a place where babies were dying inside. Now here I am at Chick-fil-A

or McDonald's or whatever, eat lunch. Enjoying life. 52 babies died today to tell you the truth

that that did happen today. And they're all going out for lunch today to build team unity. And
