Summary

Are you hesitant to leave your comfortable life for full-time travel? What exactly stands in the way between you and a life filled with adventure and self-discovery?Ā  Native Nomad Life creators, Cassie and Nate tell us how their transition to full-time travel eventually lead them to immerse themselves into native cultures, settling down part-time in Merida Mexico, and becoming professional storytellers.Ā  If you want more information about what it’s like to travel the world and set up a home base in a new country, as well as some great insight about life as a world traveler, you don’t want to miss this episode.Ā  What is one small step you can take towards a bigger (and perhaps overwhelming) goal? I'm sure this is something you've experienced. You meet a couple at a party, through your friend

0:05.8

group, wherever, and they're one of those couples that just, you just like them immediately.

0:12.5

There's something magical about the two of them together. They have a certain energy, a certain

0:16.5

chemistry, and you're just like, man, I love this couple. Well, I have one of those couples on the show

0:21.9

today, my friends Cassie and Nate, who left a comfortable life in Portland, Oregon, where they

0:28.3

really had a great situation in terms of their lifestyle there. But everything that was surface level,

0:35.1

once we dug a little deeper, you kind of start to see, well,

0:38.1

maybe it wasn't so ideal for a lot of reasons. And because of that, they decided to take off

0:44.3

and make that transition to travel. So we talk about that transition with them today, why they

0:49.1

chose to leave a place that they love, that is beautiful, that they have family in, and maybe you're listening

0:55.3

1:06.8

We love being surrounded by our friends and family, but we have this pull to travel. And in many ways,

1:12.1

that can be harder to leave, right? It's almost easier to kind of leave a job or a situation you're

1:18.6

just totally unhappy with. And we talk about that in today's interview. We talk about how they set

1:23.7

themselves up to make this transition in terms of financially. I'm really impressed with

1:28.6

just the dedication they have to keep this lifestyle going, how they ended up moving to Mexico,

1:33.7

and what that's like. We talk about indigenous and local travel, trying to support those

1:39.4

local businesses. We get some great tips around that and making a living on the road, which is something that anybody

1:46.4

who wants to travel long term needs to do unless you're living off some fat savings account.

1:52.7

And if you are, good on you.

1:54.3

But for a lot of us, we need to figure out eventually how to make a living.
